After completing all academic, confined-water and open-water requirements, you will become a certified SSI Open Water Diver, ready to explore the underwater world with greater confidence and independence.

DIVE MORE INTO THIS COURSE

This comprehensive rescue program combines two SSI training modules, giving you the knowledge and practical skills to prevent accidents, manage diving emergencies and assist other divers with confidence.

SSI Diver Stress & Rescue

Learn how to recognize stress before it develops into an emergency, prevent diving accidents, perform self-rescue techniques and assist tired, distressed, panicked or unresponsive divers.

SSI React Right

Develop essential emergency-response skills through practical training in:

• First aid

• Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

• Automated external defibrillator (AED) use

• Emergency oxygen administration

PRACTICAL TRAINING

• SSI digital learning materials

• Three confined-water rescue sessions

• Three open-water rescue sessions conducted from a boat

• One dry training session covering CPR, AED, first aid and emergency oxygen

• Realistic accident simulations and rescue scenarios

• Emergency planning, teamwork and response practice

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

• Recognize and manage diver stress

• Identify potential problems before they become emergencies

• Perform essential self-rescue techniques

• Assist tired, distressed and panicked divers

• Respond to unconscious or unresponsive divers

• Conduct surface and underwater rescue procedures

After completing both modules, you will be better prepared to protect yourself, support other divers and respond calmly and effectively when a real diving emergency occurs.

A valid first-aid and CPR certification is required for SSI Diver Stress & Rescue certification. The included SSI React Right module fulfils this requirement.
